Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church is a parish in the Catholic Diocese of Austin, Temple Deanery of Texas. It was founded in 1945 by His Excellency, the Most Reverend C. E. Byrne, Bishop of Galveston-Houston.
 
Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church was build in 1945 under the direction of Father Juan Domenge, T.O.R. to complete the great deed begun by Father Miguel Munar T.O.R.
 
Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church officially became a Parish in  1952 and Father Antonio Frontera, T.O.R., was assigned as the first Pastor. During the period of 1956-1959 under the spiritual leadership of Father Miguel Lliteras, T.O.R., the parish experience an improvement of the spiritual life. In 1959 Father Rafael Nadal was appointed the new pastor and under his direction the new church was built across the street from the old church. In 1964 the dedication and blessing of the new church took place.
 
Our Lady of Guadalupe continue to grow and in order to prove for a bigger and brighter future and keeping in mind the need for spiritual as well as human growth  The acquisition of the property on South 6 ^th Street which was accomplished, were earmarked as the future site for the CCE/Parish Family Center.
 
Today, September 1996, we dedicate the Our Lady of Guadalupe Family Center and parking lot. Our parish continues to grow and presently has 580 registered families. The parishioners of Our Lady of Guadalupe look forward to the future with great anticipation as we continue to see God’s plans at work at Our Lady of Guadalupe in so many, many ways.
 

Historia de la parroquia

La Iglesia Católica Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe se convirtió oficialmente en Parroquia en 1952 y el Padre Antonio Frontera, T.O.R., fue asignado como el primer Pastor. Durante el período 1956-1959 bajo el liderazgo espiritual del Padre Miguel Lliteras, T.O.R., la parroquia experimentó una mejora de la vida espiritual. En 1959, el Padre Rafael Nadal fue nombrado nuevo pastor y bajo su dirección se construyó la nueva iglesia frente a la antigua iglesia. En 1964 tuvo lugar la dedicación y bendición de la nueva iglesia.

 Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe sigue creciendo y con el fin de demostrar un futuro más grande y brillante y teniendo en cuenta la necesidad de crecimiento espiritual y humano La adquisición de la propiedad en South 6th Street que se logró, se marcó como el futuro sitio para el CCE / Parish Family Center.

 En Septiembre de 1996, dedicamos el Centro Familiar Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe y el estacionamiento. Nuestra parroquia continúa creciendo y actualmente tiene 580 familias registradas. Los feligreses de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe miran hacia el futuro con gran anticipación mientras continuamos viendo los planes de Dios en acción en Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe de muchas, muchas maneras.
